Help bad turbo!!

I pulled my heat sheild off and it sounds like my turbo is leaking exhaust!! i dont' feel any air pushing out when i put my hand around it!! but it sounds like it comming out of the turbo!! i'm new with turbo stuff,, can that happen! and my boost gage shows like -7 it's all the way at the bottom!! and the car can't barely pull it's self!

You could pull the turbo off and check the exhaust gaskets to see if they are bad. The low vac reading looks like you have a nasty vacuum leak or boost leak. Have you done a boost leak test yet? And also check the shaft play of the turbo.

VFAQ has a ton of info for tests and leaks. I would buy an aftermarket gauge as opposed to the stocker. Make sure all 4 turbo bolts on top are tight! So where can you hear it leaking from? The top or the side closest to your air filter?

The sound is comming form the middel of the turbo!! i can't tell tho really!! car is to loud and can point out one sound!! but it really seems to be comming from the middel of the turbo!! i"m going to pull it off tomorrow and check it out!! and check all my gaskets!! it sat for 2 years so they could have dryed out!!

But yea!! the car seems to be stuck in 2nd gear!! b/c when i take off it takes a min to get up to speed but once i'm up to 35 it pulls like it should but i run to 4 grand at 55 and it don't shit!! So the auto tranny is messed?????????? i'm not sure going to try to adjust it!! once again could be cause it sat for so long!@!

But i'm makeing head way b/c when i got it,, it would not start now i can get it to run and idel!! so i'm getting there slowly!
