I'm in a terrible predicament, my mom drives a g35 coupe, and my dad a miata with no power steering, so the eclipse's steering is feeling lighter and lighter everyday. Is there any way to make it a little heavier or is my only bet just taking out the power? I would do that but I have a feeling it would be way to heavy for every-day driving considering the weight of the car.

I dont necessarily think your looking for a heavier feel, but probably a stiffer/tighter/more responsive feeling steering wheel. If so, I achieved that with a lowering kit, anti-sway bars, and strut tower bars.

The big three for responsive steering are shocks, bushings, and alignment, with springs almost making the list. Lots of rebound, very little (or no) bushing flex, and zero toe or better in the front.

So are coilovers really worth the price or should I just try out struts/springs? Any brand recommendations would be great

DO NOT remove the power steering becuase it gives it a very more respnsive but much harder feel. The weight of the car makes it suck to drive. Slow parking lot manuvers are hell to do. It is not worth it!!

I removed my power steering, it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. However my car is not a daily driver. Another option would be go to a smaller diameter steering wheel, this makes steering a little harder since you have less leverage. That would most likely be your best bet, unless you like the face bomb.

Okay I've been looking into shocks/springs and I was wondering, could I put on some new shocks, keep the stock springs (until I have some more money) and not have to worry about camber. Or would it be better to just wait until I can afford it all at the same time?
