Guys,
Was thinking about putting some of the DEI reflective coating on the bottom of my manifold heatshield to help further reduce underhood temps. Can I get some thoughts on what you guys think? Good or bad idea?
Thanks!

Its an Evo 3 exhaust manifold and there aren't many places to wrap that thing and have it come out looking ok, much less be effective with regards to heat retention. If it was a tubular I would just wrap it, and also since I am waiting on a nice polished heat shield from SBR that I've already paid for, that is the route I am commited to.
Thanks for your reply though, I appreciate it :thumb:

If you can figure out how to get it to stick, it should help.
For a heat shield to be the most effective, you polish the side facing the heat, and flat-black the "cool" side. But it's never done that way.

That's how mine is, although more by accident than by design. I use the duplicolor 1200 degree paint with ceramic. It seems to hold up nicely.
