Ok i baught a polished heat shield from extreme psi. Im moving into a 50 trim turbo. So would this heat shield still work with a 50 trim on.

Also i have a turbo question. I like the v-trim but im looking for 400+ hp for a dyno run or so on. Can this turbo really accomplish it? It says it can but we all know how sellers hipe up some stuff. If this isnt the turbo for me then what 50 trim do you guy recomend for under 1000 or 900.

Now my 1g mani cracked and my bro did his best to weld it back together. As you can see in this pic it still has a small crack. Should i go ahead and use it the way it is or find another junkyard one.

Now a similar problem with my 14b. I will be running this turbo to break in my engine once its done being built. Then switch to the 50 trim. Now can these cracks be ported out or is this turbo junk now. Once again pics to show.

I have 2 o2 housings. One from a 1g and another from a 2g. What one would be better to use. Also why is the o2 sensor plugs in dif places.

Finally i think my water pipe is too dirty and would really make the engine bay shine with a new one. Where can i get one and also. How can i clean off all that gunk on the rest of the stuff in these pics. My tranny looks like hell. Alt. is ok but the rest of the pipes are nasty.

Sorry for the long post but this stuff is bugging me.

Im half brain dead thanks for pointing it out.....that really hurts

kidding. LOL What i really mean is. If it would be better to have the wastegate tapped onto the mani. I will do that even if i lose my heatshield. I would just make a custom one after that. I just like the polished one i have now though :D please please i need the credit.

If the purpose of the external is to control boost creep when running low boost then yes, the manifold, specifically the collector, is a better option than O2 housing. In your case, the purpose is to run higher boost so O2 housing is a better option because it's most likely cheaper and you get to keep your heatshield.

But from a performance point-of-view (setting aside the money issues) the ideal option, as Bruce said, is to have the external 'gate come off of the exhaust manifold collector. In case you're interested, here is a thread where Nate and Kevin briefly discuss the options of external 'gate mounting.

I plan on running a 50 trim setup similar to his and I figure I'll need to upgrade from the 190 to a 255 lph and larger injectors. I have 680's now should i just jump up to 780 or 880's or will the 680's be able to handle around 400 hp

Depending on how much boost you plan on running & your tune, your current setup could handle a good amount of boost on the 50 trim, though you will probably be getting close to their limits. The 190 is good for 400 whp according to FP & your required injector size can vary because of fuel you use, tune etc. but should support around the same. If you don't feel like wasteing your money I'd throw in the 50 trim & see how well your current setup supports it first, then go from there. If you descide you need larger, put an adjustable FPR on your list & go atleast 850 injectors as it looks like you have dsmlink.

Will 780's take us to the 400 mark though guys. cause im just going to have a chip burned. Then use the maft zero'd out and pick up a safc for cheap. Cause im going to keep the blow thru and i dont want to drop that kind of money for dsmlink yet. Its a lot more then what its made out to seem. Ep-rom ecu, dsmlink, sending it there and having all the stuff done. Its really a 800 dollar set up.

OH yea i have dsmlink and I love it. Thanks for the advice I have never got a straight answer on the 190 til now. I think I'll get the turbo first then do upgrade fuel as I see fit. Thanks alot

heh. So you can run out of fuel and not use all of your turbo haha.

It would be better to get fuel, then turbo.

Im going to start making my custom exhaust. Its going to be 3" piping and this is what my exhaust is now....

I know i know it needs help.

But those bends at the end. I know the manufactuer wouldent have put them there if they didnt need to but. Will mine have to be more drastic becuase im not using that stock sized piping but instead 3".

Well I got enough fuel to run close to my goal I wanna see how close I get then add more fuel.

So on a new page. I was cleaning my tranny in a nice little gas bath. I noticed befor i took the engine and tranny out it was a little hard to move the shifter left and right. He said it was because it hadent been ran in a while. So when i took the tranny out to build the engine i played wih the shifters yesterday. They were easy to move in gear but as far as the up and down goes it was stiff. As though syrup was used for tranny fluid. I know its not the shifting linkage so what could b the problem inside the tranny.

........I need answers on a transmission not injectors. That topic was finished as of 3 days ago. I could use some answers so i dont throw a shit ruined tranny in my car or even worse. Have a small problem that could be easily fixed when the tranny is out and just put it in and ruin it.

start a new thread... then people know what to look for and people with tranny info that dont have 50 trim info will look at the tread... and mine is stiff somewhat to move up and down with the tranny out of the car and it shifted fine

Well i would like not to have to start another thread to not waste space. Hence why i add'd the other random q's part to the title. I would like to have all info answered here so i dont have to look up the 23 other threads just to find how to finish my project. Or advice on how to finish it.
