do you have to take off the front bumper to be able to take the headlights off???
some feedback would be nice

Yes because there is a bottom bolt that holds the headlight on, and you cant get to it without removing the bumper.

Did you search at all? Prob not because if you did you'd see there are alot of threads on this

According to the Haynes Manual...
- You need to take the headlights off to take the front bumper off and
- You need to take the front bumper off to take the headlights off...

I unbolted the sides, used a swivel socket to get the bolt under the headlight and took them off. When I installed my headlights again I did not use the bottom bolt.

As said before, this has been discussed many many times before, a quick search would have given you the information.

unless you just break that little bracket off down there, thats what i did

Do you get any shaking or anything with the lights at night from them not being supported on the bottom at all? I was thinking of doing the same seeing as i don't really have time to take off the bumper but i don't want my headlights shaking and bouncing all over the place when i'm driving around.

Suck it up, if you are worried than do it the right way, take the bumper off. I had to reach down between the ratiator and the control support, I lost my knuckles that day.

It is possible that instead of breaking the area around the bolt, you break the entire tab off in which case the headlight will hang a little lower than usual. As said before, if you are that worried about it, take an extra 10 minutes and do it the right way. Go buy a 10" extention and a swivel socket first.

Pull it once, drill the threads out of the hole, and epoxy a nut on the lamp to put the bolt in backwards. Now you can reach it from under the hood.

my headlights have been supported by only the top bolt and the two on the back corner for a couple years, still very tight and don't shake. however that's a good idea by Locke because if I remember correctly I never use that bottom support because something's broken on it.

I used to think this is how you removed the bumper cover as well, but look at the pics in the link you just posted, you slide it off all as one peice.

The pics have the bumper cover coming off with the bumper. I took my bumper cover off with the bumper still in place. There are different ways of doing it, all of them work. :thumb:
