Tonight I went cruisin, lowbeam headlights worked when I left. I got to blockbuster, parked, turned car off. When I got back in my car, I switched the lowbeams on, and they came on and then went out. So I just switched to highbeams and figured i'd use those for now. Well I got somewhere else, got out, turned car off. When I got back in and turn on my lights, the highs went out as well. I know the lights didn't burn bc they both went off at the same time. All the fuses (floorboard and under hood) were good. What's up with this? Fried relay? Short somewhere? Help me out please. I already got pulled over and given a warning on the way home :|

Hi. I had this same problem. Take the cover off of you steering column. At the base of the lever that has the headlight switch on it, there will be a plug with about 5 wires coming from it. Unplug it and plug it back in. That should fix your problem. If not, try moving it around while you flick the switch on and off. If they come on, try using some adhesive or rubber glue to try and keep it in place. Hopefully this will work for you.

I think I have it figured out. I had Sylvania Silverstars in my car before, and I put my stock halogens back in today. They worked. Then when I got in my car and turned it on, it squealed like nobody's business. It was like 70 something outside, and my belts never squeal. So I immediately think the alternator is sticking or something. So I go to work like that, and it stops squealing after a couple minutes. When I get to work, I pop the hood, and the battery vents are popped up and some acid was sprayed around my engine bay. I got my battery/alternator tested after work and my alternator is barely charging at all. The battery is good though. Here's my theory: I think the alternator may have been overcharging a little last night. The Silverstars might be more voltage sensitve than stock halogen. Both of the Silverstars were blown when I looked at them this morning. So maybe the voltage was enough to blow the lights, but not trip the fuses? I don't know, I could be way off. Anyways, I ordered a new alternator and it should be here :thumb:
