headlight fried...

Ok, I bought a set of ebay projectors and one night all of my gauges and headlights went out. I pulled over to investigate and the front drivers side headlight was smoking. I drove home with the foglights, since they aren't wired into the headlights and managed to not kill myself in the process. When I pulled the headlight assembly, the ground wire was fried. What happened? How can I fix it? Thanks in advance guys...

Sounds like you had some kind of short circuit or surge.
Check all your fuses, that kind of stuff will blow fuses like crazy.
I would clean up the ground wire and re-attach it to something else. Also you probably blew your guage light fuse, I would check that...umm maybe look at your headlight fuse/relay.
The headlight is a fused relay under the hood, so they should actully stay on if you have some kind of problem with the electrical works there, unless its been blown to bits and needs to be replaced.

I would also check the bulbs in the headlights too make sure you didn't blow thows up in the surge.

How long where the projectors in before it happend?

Did you have upgraded headlight bulbs? Sometimes they can create too much heat and melt the harness because they are more then the reccomended watts.
