headers change color

hi everyone i recently purchased and installed BBP headers and after a little running time they turned a really dark brown looking color and have little brown rust looking spots really small my car has been sitting all winter anyone have any suggestion on how to preserve the new headers.

They turned brown from the heat cycles. As for the rust am assuming your headers are not SS. I would take them off have them bead blasted then ceramic coated to preserve them.

I agree the heat cycles will turn them colors, where did you get them from?

thanks for the reply now now dont laugh i got them off ebay but they are the same headers as andys auto sport . com for $120 so i kinda got a deal

I got some for my 420a dsm from ebay and they actually turned a little brown themselves but i'd just go with what the other dude said and get them ceramic coated and that should preserve them pretty good. Any other probs hit me up I've had a bunch of problems with my 420a until now and she is running clean as a whistle.

i have a similar issue too. But couldn't you just buy like a coating for your headers that can withstand the heat and keep it looking clean?
