I'm currently in the process of taking my head off to put on a ported/polished built head. I'm also putting on ARP studs/MLS HG.
Ok, my stock head bolts require a male hex socket to remove them, it's listed in my shop manual as a special tool. Don't have my manual handy so I can't look up the part no., but is this something I have to buy, or is there another way around it?
Also, when I was putting my head together, a special tool that was listed was the oil seal applicator or whatever for the end of the camshaft. Any problem with just putting the oil seal on, then torquing the bearing cap down over the top of it?
Also, are there any other special tools I need when taking off the intake/exhaust manifolds, fuel components, and timing components? I know about the timing belt tensioner tool, I'm just going to use my battery tie-down bolt.. anything else tho?
Thanks,
Justin
Oh and any other tips are welcome.. this is the first time I've really torn down this car.
