So I was looking at parts a few minutes ago, just putting together a mental list and was looking at head gasket options and was wondering, what kind of damage, or power loss would result from a block bore increase to .020 or .040 over, while using a standard bore head gasket? Last year, the eclipse I had, got a bore of .020 over, but I honestly can't remember if I bought the appropriate head gasket. I'd like to believe I did, but who knows now. Would like info for a reference point. Thanks....

Most HG bores that I have measured, Mitsu MLS, Fel-Pro composite, and Evergreen composite will take a .040 bore and be just fine.
