well tomorrow I am installing my cylinder head, what do you guys use for lubrication on the head bolts(factory), should I run a tap down the holes to make sure they are in good condition? also whats the deal with adding torque with different kinds of oil/ lube for head bolts.....the only info i can find is for arp studs....thanks

I just got done doing the same job using oem bolts. there is a coper spray you con use but not realy needed. torque to 75 lbs (oem) then run the car for a few minuets. and torque agin. make sure you tighten in the right pattern. Id also have your head decked first :thumb:

Yes chase the threads with a tap&die set and clean the holes with compressed air or something of the sort.

Just a suggestion since you have the head off, throw in a set of ARP studs. They can be had for cheap. If you insist on using the stock bolts, absolutely make sure they haven't stretched (that is if you haven't bought new bolts)

Stretching is not so much of an issue with 1G's. Use 30wt oil if you cannot get ahold of a moly lube, such as ARP. With 30wt oil, you will have to torque SLIGHTLY more, a few footpounds.
