having trouble downloading the mmcd software

the problem is when I download the software and try to open it, my computer says it dosen't know wher it came from??? Is there a different program that I should open the mmcd software with when I download it???? I am running 2000 XP if that helps

Hey, What exactly does your computer say, and at what point? I should be able to help you, if you post some more info.
If your trying to install it on a windows box, I'm pretty sure mmcd, is for pda's only.. I have never seen a copy ported to windows.

it says that the computer has to search the net to see where the file came from and then nothing???? (that's the only info I have) I know mmcd is for pda's but, don't I have to open it on windows before I can send it to my pda ?

No,you just send the .prc file to the palm when you sync it.Just use the palm install tool to do it.

You need to download the software from Palm that allows your PC to connect to your palm.

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/win_desktop.html

Download and install the Palm Desktop. Then double click on the .prc file that you downloaded which will transfer it to the list of programs to be synced. Now just sync your palm.
