hey guys i had ordered an o2 dump PunishmentRacing.com and it came and when i bolted it up it didnt fit right, the downpipe was about an inch short from the exhaust, and i had spoken to them about returns and they said go ahead and ship it back. i shipped it back without thinking about the thought that "they'll get it and deny ever recieving it" and ill get screwed outta $145. this is the scenario im facing right now . . . i sent 2-3 day USPS from Los Angeles to New York . . . on wednesday feb. 9 (latest he would recieve it would be saturday, feb. 12th), and i called the guy today and he said he didnt get it yet. he asked me if i had a delivery confirmation number, and like an idiot i said no - - - now he knows i dont have any proof of return i think hes tryin to screw me outta my $145 . . . any suggestions or thoughts as to what i can do ? (play it off as i do have a confirmation number?) . . . thanks

i have my receipt from USPS . . . there are a million different codes and numbers on it

Montrose PO
Montrose, California
910201508
0571020850-0097

all kinds of strange number . . . nothin else though :(

USPS is the United States Postal Service (duh!) ie. Federal Mail.

UPS is a private company. You have to pay extra $$$ for a confirmation # when you send it USPS.

im trying to look at the positive side of things, maybe i didnt get screwed because if i took it to the post office wednesday then it should ship out thursday . . . firday saturday monday (2-3 days arrival) and he will get it tomorrow tuesday . . . either that or im in denial of getting screwed ... :shhh: ... so if he doesnt get it tomorrow im convinced ive been screwed OMG

i dont know why i didnt think about PunishmentRacing screwing me outta $145 instead of paying, what is it --- $0.65 for a confirmation number ??? damn  heh...

Please bend over, I have the KY ready.

No. Don't do that. Instead start a ruckus; contact the BBB and dpt. of consumer affairs. Say that you want a new one sent to your house immideatly, and full reimbursment for your time and shipping costs. Make those people suffer for sending a bad product and trying to screw you over.

The BBB is a complete joke. They are nothing more than a "consumer watch" group. They have no authoritative control, no more than your nextdoor neighbor can walk over and punch you in the face. I called in several times to lodge complaints against my business, would call back a few days later to check on myself, and no complaints ever got logged.

The BBB is more of a preventative tool than anything. Once they have your money, only thing you can do is sue. Check with the BBB before a purchase, you might find a history of feedback and know to avoid them.

USPS can take awhile.
I had a package shipped priority (2-3 day) that took 14 days!!
I'd give it a few more.
Also, did you pay by credit card, they can reverse the charges.

Also, The BBB is to businesses the way AAA is to hotels, pay some money to the organization and your a member if you can keep the complaints down, means nothing.

i wouldn't worry about it. i live close to punishment racing, ill drive over there and beat em up for ya for 145 bucks. :)

I dont thnk they'll screw you. They dont want a bad rep, they just started out and i dont think they would want to ruin their business/customer relations. I've talked to them a few times because I wanted them to make me an o2 housing for external wastegate and they seem pretty cool.

shipping the item back was paid by cash --- wow .... huge rookie mistake on my part with my failure to get a tracking number . . . this BBB business sounds like it would be a major hassle, although it would be worth my $145 back . . . also, since i am shipping across country, from Los Angeles to New York, maybe it would take a bit longer than 2-3 days (or am i just in denial AGAIN that ive been screwed!) grr.... -thanks guys :dsm:

give em a few days dude. you shipped it 3 "shipping" days ago. ALL my dealings with them have been awesome.

your also going to feel like an ass for jumping the gun and starting this thread. :thumbdown

yeh i guess . . . ill give it some time and get back to you guys to see whats up . . . thanks fellas --- any other thoughts ? :thumb:

I am almost positive they would not screw you. They were really nice to me and did everything to make me happy. You should be fine. Good company to deal with :thumb: -Matt

guys - - - thanks for everything again, ill keep you posted for sure, i feel a lot more confident as to me getting my money back for my part, and not getting screwed - - - ill keep posting to keep u guys updated as to what the status is, thanks a lot :dsm:

The difference between USPS is there in no hurry (GOVERNMENT) And UPS like stated before is a private company. Alot of people are not aware as well that through ups, even ground, that if the package doesn't arrive within 24 hours at the hub they say its going to, it's free. Or if they lost track or ing of your package that it is free as well. For example if you go on there website and check the tracking of your package and they say it will arrive in Rockford ie tomorrow and it doesn't, free.

Quote from UPS website.....

"In the event UPS fails to attempt delivery within the time published on the UPS Web site, or as provided when 1-800-PICK-UPS is called, UPS, at its option, will either credit or refund the transportation charges for each such package to the payer only, upon request, subject to the following conditions. This is the sole remedy available under the UPS Service Guarantee."

Sorry for the quote, but had to double check myself so someone didn't flame me about being a liar :thumb: You know how those UPS workers are :p

Really, you do need to give this more time before saying bad things about a vendor. Just because they havent recieved your package doesnt mean anything. Ive waiting more than a week to recieve things priority mail. Then again, Ive also had to deal with a lost ECU sent through USPS.

Also, I had the same fitment problems with my punishment racing o2 housing. They got pretty pissed at me when I told them that it didnt fit. The manifold wasnt long enough (like yours) so I asked for an extra flange to compensate for the length. After many ignored emails and over a month waiting for the extra flange I decided to give them a bad ebay comment (it was from an ebay bid). They claimed that the fitment issue was my fault because theyve "made 100s of the manifolds without a problem". Its nice to see that im not the only one. Hopefully things turn out better for you. Just give it time...

This is not a customer service board, nor is this any kind of advanced tech.
