Im thinking of getting the Apexi N1 Exhaust System for my GSX. A buddy of mine said the system was "annoyingly loud" i was just wanting opinions for people who run the system on thier car, as to how it sounds, how it performs, and how they like it overall. Just to get a feel before i buy.

thanks :thumb:

Looks amazing with the shiney angled tip, and it is not annoyingly loud, it is a very deep rumble, almost like a scoob. I highly reccommend it. I'm sure it performs s well as any other 3 inch cat back.

Do you plan on a downpipe or high flow cat/test pipe?

I absolutely love the look of it. Sometimes it does seem a little loud. Especially if you are trying to talk to someone in the car. Haven't been pulled over for it yet :)

I love mine. Looks great, sounds great, and u get a lot of compliments on it. Gotta love the combo of the turbo spool and exhaust.. very pleasent. I got a pic of it in my gallery if u want to see the angle it's at. Only problem I have with the exhaust is that it's about 3/4 of an inch away from my drive line =X

I have the Apex-i GT spec downpipe with the N1 cat back. Looks great and sounds good. Sound is deeper than most exhausts out there for DSM's. They also have 2 resonators on them. I also believe that the piping starts at 3" at the cat and ends up to be over 3" at the inlet of the muffler. :thumb:

I have the N1 down pipe with cat delete and the 3" cat back system, very high quality and the sound is amazing, best sounding exhaust for a turbo dsm imo. :thumb: Definitely worth every penny

The sound f*ing :rocks: a low bassy rumble, if it bothers you so much you can always put the silencer in. When i put it in, it sounded almost stock with flutter noise. Id say go for it, I would buy it again.

i have a RRE evo short dp to cat and 3 inch RRE cat with N1 Cat back

a tad bit lounder than stock. I think my cat is restricting the loudness, when i go WOT has a rumble sound and i am still able to hear the spool up and bov

well with stock turbo its not going to be obnoxiously loud, however the larger the turbine housing you have the louder the exhaust is going to be. With my 50 trim and full 3" tb on my n1 is ####ing loud at idle and at wot. Its not to bad at cruising if you hold the gas in the right position but its pretty damn loud.

as long as your not hoping the apexi downpipe is going to be 3 inches because that thing definatly bottlenecks
Show me a comparrison between an Apex-i and a another downpipe. Most downpipes have to follow a simalar path. I don't see how the Apex-i could have such a "bottle-neck" and another be so much better.

The n1 downpipe goes from 2.5 from the o2 all the way to right after the flex section, then it flares out to 3.

Hahaha! Yeah, I knew that, but now I look like the ass because I was thinking of bottle-neck in another way. I'm a moron! ROFL I stand corrected.

yea the apexi downpipe has those necking downs.. RRE did a review of it a while back and it ended up in their trash can..

but the n1 catback is nice.. yes "pretty loud" does associate with it.. but its a nice sound

big deal if the downpipe bottle necks a little...It's not too restrictive and it definitely would not creep as much as a REAL 3" turbo-back...Plus, compared to a lot of systems the price is very competitive at only $205-215...not bad...Although the N1 catback definitely is not for everyone when it comes to pricing there...Search for N1 sound clips and you will definitely find a bunch

i have gt spec downpipe and n1 catback, definitely nicest sound of any car on the road imho. people can definitely tell its a turbocharged supercar rather than any riced out import. there have been studies and such than say basically that there is no big power gain by using 3" before the flex rather than 2.5". and 2.5" will match with most aftermarket 02 housings and ported stock ones. muffler and tip are definitely an eye catcher. before i bought my car i researched parts for it and wanted the n1 exhaust. when i bought my car it came with a bosal 3" catback already on it. its a nice exhaust and its full stainless steel but when i found an n1 for a good deal i jumped on it, im sooo glad i got it, definitely my favorite exhaust.

mmm...no.. no it doesnt

To what point did u draw that conclusion? So it doesnt have a moving spoiler or DeLoren doors. Your no fun. Anyways, the N1 rocks imo.

I like the sound of the N1.. But to be honest, everyone around here has that exhaust on their cars... So I guess their all great sounding cars! :0) But my one friend has the Thermal R&D 3inch.. and I think I like that better! its *imo* a lot deeper than the apexi... I personally have the Apexi WS... very quiet.. almost stock until you hit about 5.5k... Not to bad for my lil' car :0p
