2G Hatch Won't Close

I can't get the hatch to close on my car.
Seems like the catch on the hatch is not aligned with the latch on the car. Could this be an alignment issue?
I swapped to a new hatch some time ago and just bolted it on.

I had a issue were it was my hatch locking mechanism needed to be slightly adjusted and that resolved it for me.

There is a difference in the part of the hatch which latches onto the body from a 2Ga to a 2Gb. When my friend switched hatches we had to swap those two pieces out to make it close properly. Not sure what the part is techniclally called but its the "open square" section on the hatch side, that then engages with the locking mechanism on the body side.

Was a simple alignment issue.
Loosened the bolts on the top and tugged it to the driver side a bit and it closes/opens perfectly now.
