Did the new ones come with a bolt with a ball head? Screw the ball head into the hatch and then the strut will just snap into place over the ball. My new struts were the same way. I actually think it's easier to install now.

One was missing the ball hinge.. opened other and it had one. They are sending the missing part.. makes sense now..

The 2 bottom screws are no joke though trying to deal with them... 2 screw drivers a wrench and a magnet... might be easier to remove trim LOL

Without the glass our hatches wouldnt weigh much. Id be happy just replacing the glass if it was affordable.

Last time I replaced my hatch struts I had to drill the plastic. I tried a few different places and everywhere seemed to have the same struts.
