If they can be switched they will fit.. as is no... i havent tried to unscrew the tops but shouldnt have toDo they even fit? Are the ends able to be swapped?
One was missing the ball hinge.. opened other and it had one. They are sending the missing part.. makes sense now..Did the new ones come with a bolt with a ball head? Screw the ball head into the hatch and then the strut will just snap into place over the ball. My new struts were the same way. I actually think it's easier to install now.

Without the glass our hatches wouldnt weigh much. Id be happy just replacing the glass if it was affordable.https://m.ebay.com/itm/2x-Rear-Hatch-Lift-Supports-Shock-Struts-for-Eagle-Talon-Eclipse-1990-1994-4731-/162504260886?fits=Model:Eclipse&epid=632842930&hash=item25d6023d16:g:KvoAAOSwcgNZDDiZ&_trkparms=pageci%3A09c02cd2-ab1d-11e7-b966-74dbd1802550%7Cparentrq%3Af538af1a15e0aa46b6e3bd66fffe523d%7Ciid%3A10
I got these I think, or some very similar
Fit like a glove and work great!
Although if I could find some good cheaper lexan, I would def go lift off fiberglass hatch and ditch em all together.
