Hatch release cable length

I have an RS without a trunk release in the car (in order to open the hatch, you have to use the key in the back of the car).

I could buy a cable for it on ebay (I already got a handle), but my dad is a bike mechanic, and he has about 100 spare cables exactly like the one for the fuel door ready. The only thing I need to know is if any of them will be long enough. Does anybody know how long the trunk release cable is on a 2G non-spyder?

I have the same issue. My newly acquired '97 Eagle Talon has the truck release handle, but the cable is missing (rusted out i assume). Locking mechanism does not allow key to open hatch, so I've got to find a cable. Apparently not available via OEM (in Canada, anyway).

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's around 11-12 feet, maybe a little longer. You could use a tandem bicycle brake cable, but it would have to be a tandem since most regular brake cables end at 10 feet.
