2G Hatch cover modification question

I've recently installed a DCSport strut bar to help tie in my 22mm rear sway bar. The only issue I have is the fact that the hatch cover "pockets" sit lower than the bar.

Has anyone succesfully modified the hatch cover to clear the DCSport strut bar? If yes, pics would be appreciated.
