Has anyone welded two sidemounts?

Just curious! I saw a post that someone with two welded side mounts had and run an 11.9 so I am wondering how hard it was to fit the welded side mounts into the front? Not to hard to find side mounts for cheap compared to a decent front mount.

That's called the "super sidemount". Search for that and you'll find plenty of people that have done it. It's not hard.

He's most definitely talking about 2 stock intercoolers welded together aka super sidemount.

I've never heard of the " SUPER" side mount. But i have seen people use OEM supra sidemounts as there almost double the thickness of our sidemount.

Look harder then. Dejon made one for 2g's and instead of paying them for it, guys just started welding 2 stock sidemounts together, calling it the same thing, a "super sidemount".

I bought a box of parts off a guy from craigslist, and he had some random stock dsm parts. a 14b some injectors etc. The one thing that made me chuckle was this hunk of metal he brought out and said this could go with it... I asked him what it was... He replied that it was 3 stock side mounts, welded together to make a front mount intercooler. I still have it, don't know what else to do with it except look at it when I need a good laugh.

Awesome! Thanks for the replies... I was just noticing that you can pick up a stock sidemount off craigslist for next to nothing and was curious! Cheap yup! I have a family and a mortgage and I am our only source of income so I am always looking for good ideas for my car!
