Toronto,
I'm wondering if my Master is toast, I dont see any leaks.

The symptoms:

Clutch has two levels of engagement almost.
1st level feels like its to the floor already, and shifts but hard sometimes.
Then by fluke I pushed really hard with the balls of my feet (my back was pressing hard against the chair) and it went down what feels like another 1/3". At this point the car shifts better than it has EVER before!

On a normal clutch, it should always be to the floor by default correct?
I recently changed the slave, and bled it...will try bleeding once more, but I don't see any leaks on the master. My buddy says it could be leaking internally??

What's your opinions on this?

It's possible your floor mat is causing some resistance when you try to get full travel out of the pedal. It's also possible you're just squeezing every last drop out when you're pushing hard against your seat.

In either case I would suggest you adjust you adjust your master cylinder rod to net you the optimal disengagement you're experiencing at "level 2".

Well, the clutch has been weird on both Mitsubishi cars I drive. The 1989 Galant and 1996 Eclipse GST. They both have some sort of free play till half way down and disengage clutch at faster rate starting from half way down.

In GST clutch pedal goes pretty much all the way to the floor, it doesn't on Galant. Then again, the Galant clutch is kinda 'fried' and needs replacing badly.

As far as I know Mitsubishi clutches are supposed to disengage higher and higher as they wear out though (it was written somewhere on vfaq i think).

Concerning extra 1/3'', I'd go for a good crank walk check, it might indicate just that.

It's a 6 bolt so hopefully and doubtfully not cw.
The master has been pretty much fully extended out.

I noticed that I only get the two levels of engagement when the tranny has been fully warmed up.
When cold, the pedal goes all the way in, and again, still hard to shift until it warms up and it finally turns into two level engagement, then its smooth shifting.
