putting my motor back together after its been apart for about a year. i put in a set of arp main studs and it couldnt get the oil screen and tube to line up right. so after some crafty work by me and a friend we had to make the hole the fits over the stud bigger and bend it to fit. perhaps maybe it just got bent while sitting for a year or is this something other people have had trouble with. then i couldnt get my oild pan to fit on top because it is hitting the screen but i had to call it a night and havent fixed that yet. any idea?

Never heard of any thing of this sort. Was it sitting for a year in extreme heat/cold? Glad you fixed it though :thumb:

chocolate? really? well that explains it all thanks so much for the help...i wish i thought of that

no it wasnt in extreme heat/cold it was in a nice garage the whole time. only thing i could think of was that the tube got a little bent from sorting threw my pile of parts.

sorry to bring this back after about a month however...i got a new oil pick up tube and im still haveing the same problem. i put the tube on the topline oill pump and the hole that is supposed to go around the main stud is off by probly a half an inch. and again i had to try to get it to fit messing with the bracket that goes around the main stud, when i do get it to the right spot and get it around the arp main stud it does not sit right on the oil pump leaveing a gap between the tube and the pump. which maybe cause by the nut on the stud being to tall.

so i guess there are 2 questions here, could the oil pump have the angle wrong for the pickk up tube?

or is the arp stud and nut the problem?

some1 has to have had this problem other then me...i hope

thanks i thought about cutting that bracket off but wasnt sure if i should or not...that will hopefully solve the problem
