Hey guys I've been searching and can't seem to find a straight answer... I have a gm maf that I'm considering using once I am finished with my turbo swap. I do have link v3 full. I just don't have the coin to shell out for the EcmLink gm maf cable. So my question is can I take a gm maf and stock 1g maf harness and create my own harness to run my gm maf with link? I can't find the gm maf pinout. I have a pinout for a stock 1g maf harness but how would I get this done? Thanks for all the help guys!

If you looked i dont think youll find a straight answer i would just save up for the cable depending on where you look you can find a used one. I never seen a custom made cable everyone i know who have full link invest in the cable, 75 bucks but i knew that when i upgraded it. Might be easier to get the cable and call it done. I think if people did that ecmlink wouldnt have made the cable.

Yes but for the people that are nearing the end of there build which means the end of the budget it would just be easier to make the harness. I simply have both harnesses and just want to make them one. Similar to how people make the 1g to 2g maf harnesses.

Why not Spend the $75 on a Map sensor and AIT and the harnesses for them and Hard wire that in instead  of the Gm Crap sensor and Run SD :idontknow: :p

I am actually glad you chimed in MY1GDSM. Once I figure out my maf situation and get the correct injectors for my setup I plan on contacting you for a remote tune. Right now I just feel the gm maf would be an easier route considering my power goal! I also already have it and the harnesses. I just dont know if I could even create my own harness!

I did find this on a previous thread... It's far from being the answer just a start!

GM 3" MAF has 3 wires

1-Black (Just ground this)
2-Pink (needs 12V keyed with ignition)
3-Yellow ( Air Flow wire. cut pin #2 on your DSM maf connector and splice this wire in.)

Idk if you will get much help on the link forums being they are the ones who market the product but might be worth a try. Also I would try to contact someone that has the cable that can tell you what wire goes where.

Thanks for the help! I thought about trying the link forums but I wasn't sure how much help I'd get. I feel like they'd first bash before trying to help. I am trying to find someone with a cable. Nobody local really has one. If someone has a gm maf cable and wouldn't mind inspecting it and posting results myself and others I'm sure would be great full!

Not sure if I can be of any help with the cable... I always feel like I let things slip I shouldn't when it comes to Tom an Dave and their products... . LOL

Op,
Feel free to contact me anytime I'm sure I can be of help.

But I still stand that it would be a better Idea to just go SD more so if you plan of having anyone else get the tune done for you as their is no question of needing the knowledge to tune it.

The Tune is going to end up being WAY more consistent then a GM Maf ever will be.... Just my $0.02

Thanks so much for the help! Honestly I 100% support ECMTuning! Just right now after shelling out the coin for other expensive parts I will be left with only the 1g maf. This will hurt my setup more than help it. I have a spare gm maf that's just lying around with the pigtail connected. If I had the money I'd just jump on SD then contact you for the remote tune since there are very little local tuners that know how to work with DSM's. so if I can make this harness then it'll save me as well as let me tune once I get injectors! I'll shoot you an email!
