my 99 gst has a hard time starting and idling. it usually takes two turns of the key to get it going. onve i get it going it wants to die and i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running. once the car gets warm its runs great. is this normal or is this a problem that can be fixed

How old is your battery? this could be it. or is it cold by you? I didnt think mine would start some times in the morning after a dreadfully cold night.

I had the same problem, it ended up being an intake manifold gasket leak, I replaced it myself and now it idles smooth as silk. You can check to see if you have a intake leak(anywhere) just by spraying stp carb cleaner on and around all the places that join together where gaskets are used including the injectors. If the idle changes then you know.
You have to do this while at idle,so you may need to turn your biss screw up a little, also check the biss(idle screw) gasket itself. Anyway it worked for me.
