Has anyone ever heard of or used these tires? I remember seeing them in an ad a long time ago, and they've just resurfaced since then.

Here's a link, but Discount Tire has no information on them ...

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?sw=false&cs=235&pc=11870&rd=17&ar=40

As you can see, they are a bargain for a 235/40/17 sized tire with a UTQG rating of 200. They also seem to mimic the Advan Neova AD-07's in tread design as well. I've tried visiting the Hankook site, but they don't have much information, either. They seem to be very popular, as the 235's have been sold out with only a handful of sets left for the ones that are sized as a 225/45/17.

What I want to know is how it compares to the Falken Azenis RT-215 - Sidewall stiffness, tread depth, weight, construction, etc.

Many thanks in advice.

There is a thread floating around here about that tire.

From what I read they have all the dry handling charactoristics of the Azenis with far superior wet handling. The price is good too!

This is the thread mentioned:

I wanted a tire with a 200 treadwear, good price, good rigid sidewall, better in the rain than a Azenis an not greasy under hot lapping condition. I'm gonna try this one... And let you know.

From a good solo2 driver:"In the US last year, Hankook brought a few sets of Z212 to test on some WRX's. These guys were running the Azenis at the time and a comparision was due.
All of the guys commented that the dry traction was equal or better than the Azenis but the wet capabilities were superior. The best quality however , they said, was the ability to do multiple runs without having the tires overheat. (a major complaint from the ST class drivers of Azenis)

I know that we will see many people in CADL ST class run on these tires."

Finally I bought some Yokohama A032R H, an incredible deal here in Montreal...

Sweet. Thanks alot, guys. I think I'll give them a try this season. :thumb:

I tried searching for "Hakook Ventus RS-2" and I didn't find anything. I didn't know there was a thread on it.

I did spell it right when I searched (although I think I just put "Ventus RS-2"). :coy: Thanks, though.
