Ok guys im pulling my tranny to rebuild, but my passenger halfshaft nut wont come off. Ive wd40 it went at it with my impact hammer and snapped my breaker bar on it, any ideas?

1/2 inch breaker bar with a long metal pipe attached to the end, and a fat guy. :D But seriously, they can be tough...just keep at it. One I did we put heat on it for 20 mins and then a breaker bar and then the nut came off with the threads from the halfshaft attached to the nut! Try to avoid that, but sometimes you can't.

Getting the nut off was just half the battle for me. I used an Earthquake impact wrench from Harbor Freight (that thing was definitely worth the investment!) and it took those axle nuts off in just a few minutes. I could not break them free with a breaker bar, but the Earthquake did it. HOWEVER, the axle would still not come out of the hub. I tried everything, and eventually just said ta hell with it and beat on it with a 1" diameter by 6 foot long steel rod. It came out...but I don't have confidence in the strength of my hub anymore:)

Use penetrating oil instead of WD-40, it will get in better and help break stuff up. My hard part was trying to get the axel to slide through the disk brake and hub assembly, I had to use a puller and beat it was a big PITA.

You don't need to take that off to get the tranny out. In fact, taking that off is by far the slowest way to do it.

Pull the wheels off, and undo the two bolts that hold the strut to the hub knuckle. Then turn the stering wheel all the way to one side, and tilt the suspension down. Pop the axle out of the tranny.

Be careful not to stress the brake lines.
