i just tried to fix my idle surge and after cleaning my ISC it won't idle, and if it does, it's really erratic. i cleaned out my ISC with some TB cleaner, put everything back together and started it up, after making sure it was dry, and it ran fine...for a little bit. next time i started it, it would not idle, it would rev up to about 2K and then die, the only way to hold 'idle' would be to tap the throttle.

it seems to be off and on, sometimes will idle, sometimes won't feel like it. when it does idle, it'll rise/drop a few hundred rev's, i tried unplugging it, and nothing changed. it looks to me like i need a new ISC, but i heard they were around like 250. are there any other things i could try? if not i think i might have to make a run to the pick-n-pull.

Yank the MAP and see if it's all clogged up with junk. If it is, clean it off with brake kleen too.

You might also consider replacing your coolant temp sensor (the two connector one on the thermostat housing). Between these two items, you're out less than $40. If they don't work, sounds like IAC to me. :shrug
