well i got 300 bucks right now to mod my 91 awd a/t talon. i was thinking about getting an intake but after i read the article about cutting up the air can... how much diff is there between the chopped up and aftermarket intakes?ofcoarse the aftermarket is going to be much cleaner but im going for function. plus it would be like almost free (filter) how much hp diff is there?? can the intake gain significantly in power with a "hard pipe"? i dont think it would make that much diff but i thought i would ask. oh and the intake im talking about is the dejn tool that is shown on the tuning section.thanks!

Buy the intake. it's the way to go.

Hard pipes help flow per a smoother surface.

but a better question is why would it be almost filterless unless you really don't give a crap about your car????

buy an intake cone w/ adapter to your maf.
forget the intake pipe, just hack the stock one for now. (for more info on hacking/removing your dump tube go to vfaq)

with the money you saved on some injen intake pipe or dejon one whatevers, now go and get yourself a new hard upper innercooler pipe with a greddy type-s bov.

if you have dont this, you just have spent your money wisely.
(buying a hard intake pipe vs hacking intake pipe [free] and getting upic w/bov... the uicp/bov will get you more)

to compare this yourself.. go look at your stock intake pipe (pipe from maf to turbo) and then go look at your upper innercooler pipe and your bov.. (piping from your sidemount innercooler to your intake manifold)... it doesnt take a genius to notice that your upper innercooler piping is crying for more clearance/air flow vs. your intake pipe.

well next week ill have some more money so this week i will get the intake and ether try to find a used intercooler pipe or wait till next week and get a new one. i cant use the stock blow off with the new cooler piping?thanks
oh and is anyone selling a used intake or cooler piping?
