h3 hid light healp please

i am trying to figure how to install my H3 hid lights in my 1995 eclipse gs
i pluged in the one wire into the one slot as show in the first pic
but i cant find out where to put the ground wire at

the second pic is what the headlight back looks like

can anyone help me please
oh yea- i think that the headlights are projection headlights, if it makes any diffrence
last one is a pic of hid and stock bulbs

take a picture of the stock bulb for me.

for me what i had to do (H1 bulbs) the bulb itself takes the + wire. and the ground wire was on the side of the headlight housing, which i had to unplug, and hook the ground from the HID into that wire.

well that's weird as hell. that's just a crimp eyelet for the ground. find a some metal on the body that isn't painted (you might have to sand the paint off) and put a screw through the eyelet so it touches bare metal. that's the best idea i have, nothing that i know of connects to a crimp eyelet.

also try this, follow the wire that connects to the stock bulbe as far as you can and see if it splits off into two wires somewhere. if it does find where the other wire goes.

this guy has the right idea. ground wire can go anywhere on bare metal. if im not mistakened that style of bulb grounds itself out making it only have the single power wire.

okay, i tryed to ground it but it still did not work.
but when i put the wire's from the hid to the battery it works, but i dont want to run wires off the battery becasue it will be like daylight running lights and dont want to waste the life of the lights.

can anyone think of anything elce to do?

You have to reverse the polarity on dsm's. So what you need to do is hook the power wire from the ballast to the other side of the stock headlight bulb plug and leave the ground wire of the ballast grounded to the metal on the car. Or you can just do as I did b/c all of my headlight wires were corroded, just leave the black wire of the ballast grounded to the chassis somewhere, and take the red wire and run it to a switch.

don really understand, mine only has that single plug i can plug a wire into

I know this is not the answer your looking for and I don't want to start a flame war but you realize you will project less usable light with this HID pseudo conversion into a reflector that wasn't designed for an HID capsule than you would if you used the correct fitment high quality bulb? Just because you are scattering more light out of the lens doesn't mean you are projecting the light on the road where you need it. This is even more true if you are running a color temp higher than 4500 degrees C.

^^ this guy didnt read the post. he has aftermarket projector assembly's. and even if the projectors weren't designed for HID kit, as long as you cover up the squirl catchers (which requires you to take them apart), they work perfectly.

though you're close to right on the color temp. it's actually 4300K that is brightest light. after that they appear to be brighter, but that's only because they glare more.

Aftermarket projects are low quality, FACT.
Your better off with OEM.
Trust me, I bought a set. The light output was rediculously low.

So I looked into retrofitting. Bought me a pair of 09' bi-xenon M3 projectors
and put it into my OEM housing. I compared the projectors and the
one's from the aftermarket housing were cheaply made & lens where
thick for nothing.

why spend so much money on m3? could have gotten TSX or velo which are 10x better anyway.

FYI, projectors have reflectors behind the lens...

You are absolutely correct on the color temp... 4300 is optimum but in a lot of cases, unless you buy OEM, they are hard to find in the aftermarket where 6000 to 12,000 is common.... a baller's first choice is 'hella blue' right?

Projectors can be more easily converted to HID if a lot of attention is made to fitment... but, as was pointed out, cheap projector suck.

easiest way, take out the oem harness and splice it with the hid kid.

as for what you have, ground the black and find a power source for the red(fuse box?)

even after i ground the black wire, the lights dont work, everything is plugged in but the lights just dont work.

I was running into the same exact problem. I have projectors too, but that wire that comes out for the bulb is actually my ground not a positive
