Hey man don't feel too bad. I suck too. Everytime we play, I get made fun of. It sounds more like I'm playing a piano LOL. Its ok though, I shut my friends up really quick when we play halo...
 
i just got GHII for xmas, seriously awesome game!! I'm stuck on freebird on medium LOL. I can't for the life of me nail all those solo's down. It sucks being left handed, definitely a challenge. My fav songs so far are the bonus ones from Shadows Fall and Every time I die oh yeah cant forget As I lay dying. Madhouse and warpigs are so awesome to play!!!! This game has made me stop playing gears of war since i got it on xmas haha. BTW playing drunk totally helps hahahahaa.ROFL
 
welcome to 1995 guys. This game has been out for years in japan. I remember playing this back in the day. It was pretty fun.

LOL I wish As I Lay Dying was on GH. I still have to get jordan on expert otherwise I've got everything on expert and all 5* hard. This game is/was as addicting as crap, but now I have a real guitar and it is a little bit harder ;) so I think I'm going to try to learn it for real now.

thats two of the most retarded reasons ever. Ive been playing guitar for almost 5 years now, and while GH isnt anything close to real guitar, that doesnt mean its not fun. its just a game. i would never even compare the two, GH is just for shits and giggles when youre bored and it uses a controller that resembles a guitar, its got 5 buttons versus what, 130 something frets on a real guitar.

actually, it does take alot to do a game like this. all the songs were covered by bands, so they had to recruit bands and do quite a bit of studio time. very few songs in GH2 are the actual song, 98% of the rest are covers, and spread over many genres of music. GH1 was all covers.

so basically you dont like this game because it focuses on fun gameplay and not insane graphics? it doenst take insane graphics or 2 year design times to make an awesome game, just cause gran turismo takes 4 years every release and they spend lots of money doesnt mean everyone else must. hell, look at the Wii, its main focus is fun gameplay and replay value and graphics are taking a second seat, and its almost going to outsell the 360 and PS3 combined by units sold by the end of january.

LOL i dont remember. when i first got GH1, i started on medium and after the first set, started a new career on hard. When i got GH2 i went straight to hard. i think its easier for real guitarists to learn to play GH because our fingers are more trained to move in unison with plucking, they are stronger and more mobile than those of non-guitarists.

the weird thing is, if i have to level myself down and play medium against a buddy, they usually kick my ass, because im used to hitting notes at a faster rate and not thinking about it, and when i slow down i must think about the timing and it kills me every time. or i end up trying to hit a note or combo that doesnt exist on medium, and there goes my 4x multiplier.
 
the secret to beating expert is hammer ons and pull offs. theres actully a section in thunderhorse where you don't have to strum for about 10 seconds.

Very true. The tutorials help a little, but if you play freebird on whatever difficulty you can practice them slow and then try them on faster songs. This is for those of you who had no idea like me at first. The notes without the black ring in the middle are notes that you can hammer on and pull off. You have to strum every note with a black circle in the center. :thumb: Keep practicing and you will get it.

For those who think they're awesome at the game...try a little DragonForce. Wait until around 3:25 when the guitar solos hit...There's a video somewhere out there that shows a song even crazier than this...I can't find it though :|

hahaha i love GH. i can beat every song on expert. both GH1 and 2. besides six by all that remains. its one of the bonus songs on GH2. its insane. i dont even own the game. i dont mean to brag but.... im bad to the bone.
 
I read above that about 98% percent of the songs on gh2 were covers which songs on the game were not?
 
That guitar Hero video above; which version of Guitar Hero is that on!? I want to play that song!
 
I thought you all were losers, LOL but then i played it on new years eve into then next day and missed midnight.
