Hi guys, I'm finishing up a pretty big rebuild and doing the brakes. The car has been through a good deal and when I started the process of replacing the front rotors, the bolts holding both brackets to the car just snapped off. No manner of easy outing would solve my problem, the bolt and the bracket had really become one with each other.
I got a new bracket at Autozone and the old guide pins would not go in. I got new guide pins and the brand new ones will not go in either. Both old and new pins slide right into the old bracket, but not the new one. This is the case for both brackets. I am fairly sure they are the right part, they're identical. This is the part in question.

The car is a 93 TSI FWD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
