hey guys so after searching i still couldn't find what i would like to know.
my question is i will be running a dbb gt35r, but right now im running evo 3 16g and im not running water lines to it im gessing thats what i call "oil cooled only".
is that ok to do? And on my gt35r showld i do water / oil cooled or just leave the water lines caped the way they are now?

And will i need a new feed line for the gt35r and feed it from the headwitha nice filter? or i showld be ok with the stock oil feed from the oil housing but still throw a nic filter on it befor the turbo?

thanks every one

With ball bearing turbos oil feed is mainly to provide lubrication to the bearings. You'll want to cool the turbo with water lines on a 35r

If the turbo is designed to be water cooled then you need to run water to it. Needless to say MHI turbos are tanks but if you try running a GT35R with out water lines you will have a VERY expensive paper weight. All BB turbos need water cooling.

As said before - you are currently running the EVO III 16G turbo as a dry bearing CHRA with oil lines. A DBB turbo is a wet bearing CHRA and needs WATER for cooling and OIL for lubrication.

alright i thaks guys and another question can i feed my turbo from where we feed stock turbos"oil housing" or do i have to feed it from the head or maybe get difrent feed lines?
and for the water feed do they sell a kit or i can use the lines that are on my 16g.

and one more time thanks guys that really helps me

danny...

Like said above, ball bearings need to be water/oil cooled.. I however do not water cool my 16g fwiw. But it's also non ball-bearing.

For a BB turbo, if you run an oil line from the oil filter housing you'll need to get a restrictor. You can run off the head, which has lower oil pressure and is usually recommended, but I'd put a filter on it since it is not the cleanest/freshest oil when compared to the oil from the oil filter housing location.

GT CHRA Ball bearing applications:
The body of the black filter features a built in .8mm (.030") restrictor as recommended by Garrett for use with their GT25R, GT30R, GT35R cartridges.

Forced Performance sells filters if you want to buy it from them - Forced Performance: FP -4 AN Inline Filter

As for the water lines - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/problem-diagnosis/216960-water-lines-fp3065.html

yeah thats what i was thinking about doing getting a earls filter and then feed it from the head and then what do i do to the hole where the old one comes from just plug it with a screw?

something like this its on second page half way down//

and i will be getting the 91 ofh so i can do my oil cooler because right now i have the sandwich plate and i had to change filters and i dont like it.

and do you guys think i showeld sell the 720 greddy denso injectors and get something biger for the gt35r or the 720's will be good.
