Hey guys i just got my first gsx a coupleweeks ago and have been having some issuse. Currently has a small 16g turbo(HOWEVER NO FMIC), walboro 155 pump (fuel pressures idles at 42 psi), injectors, full megan racing exhaust, and tuned using a program called Evoscan. My problem is in higher gears in where im using boost for too long the engine will start to knock/ backfire. Backfiring occurs also when shifting, I turned the boost down to 11 psi and it helped.

My guts telling me he tuned it wrong and seems that its burning way too rich, or is it that i'm still using the stock SMIC with the small 16 g????
Please help!!!

The intercooler will not effect your air fuel ratio. It simply cools the incoming air.

Run a boost leak test and turn the boost down to around 10psi. You also need to review the tune and make sure the injectors are properly compensated for.

OK Thanks a lot man i'll do a boost leak test, and as for re-evaluationg the tune I don't think i can. The previous owner used EVO Scan but its only on windows and I have a mac, and I"m pretty much a noob a would'nt exactly know what to change even i did, So in that case do you think i should just bite the bullet and pay for a dyno tune?(Of course meaning if the boost test is fine)
