I know this isnt a Dsm but im helping a freind with a build. He purchased a b18c1 shortblock and everything looked good. We started the build and 1 headbolt thread was stripped. Is there a fix we can do? Will helicoil or time-insert/serts work

Drill the head and tap the block for an oversized head bolt. (even if its just the one) Heli coils are not enough threads per inch to hold the torque of a head bolt. Most are only about 3/8 in length, unless you know of any larger ones that have the same length of thread as a head bolt, I've never seen them.

the king-sert or time -sert will work....

pulled threads are common in alum blocks

going to a larger head bolt, will change the clamp value on the HG
