I drive a 91 FWD Talon Turbo and I give all respect to AWD's but I'm tired of hearing about them hiting 10's and 9's. Is it possible at all can you make a GS-T into a 10 second car? I would personally love to do this myself to see a GS-T in the top 10 1/4 times on this site. Does any one have opinions and sugestions how to do this?

Thank You RED98Gs. If I remember correctly, a few month back there was a fwd laser with a small 16g that ran 11's with slicks. pretty impressive if you ask me.

I dont mean to give all of you a reality check but I am sure all of you have seen the 4g63 noen that hanh race craft has that is street driven and has all stock interior and ran a 9 sec quauter racing a viper and stomped him like he was sitting still. And to top it all off if you know how to swap your own turbo and attach wires and ect small upgrades and had your engine rebuilt (by some one good). You could run 10's with 8 to 10 highest 11grand, but it would be a 10 sec car But you all are right you will have to replace things constantly IF YOU BEAT ON IT.

If any one wants the video e-mail me i will send it.And I have the mod list for the car but not the tunning controls or settings.

I am going for something more simple mid 12's that good for me.

Why waste time arguing with someone who has a 19C turbo on a DSM (mccurdy)?

Quick advice:
Hope you have a TON of money, and a beater to drive you around. 10 second daily driven Hondas? Please post links or back it up. If not, sorry, I don't believe you. Read, learn, save a LOT of money and MAYBE you can do this and prove us wrong. But I am not holding my breath.

Good luck nevertheless. You're gonna need it.

If you mean Len Ayala I took a Allpar.com and came up with this.

Len Ayala should get a mention as well. The Hahn Racraft Neon has run the best of 9.44 and 147mph with a 2.4L DOHC engine and 3 spd automatic trans. Len's Neon was the first Neon into the 11s and 10s also without the help of wheelie bars. I should also mention that Len's Neon did 10.55@134 while still a street car that was driven on the weeekends.
That isn’t exactly a 4g63 and a 3 speed auto sucks as far as street ability goes. So you are a bit off base.

Well any car really can be made a ten second car...but at what cost? For instance we have some Volvos here in Sweden who does low 11's /high ten's almost every race they run at the trax...with no bars in the back. Its a couple of Volvo 850R that has been heavliy modified and have approximately 550-600HP in the engine so ..yes its possible. How much they spent on them I do not know though.

A FWD car with hudraulic bars for instance will run almost as fast as any other car on the trax..but it takes alot more to do it..simple as that.Considering the power will be the same in a FWD as a AWD the only prob is traction....and since e FWD needs to "drag" its weight instead of pushing it..they will never be the same....I guess all are well aware that a RWD or AWD will kill a FWD on the trax and I dont disagree to that...
What I am sayin is that there are lots of cars that are FWD that can brake a ten ..but its harder than in a RWD or AWD..nothing can change that.

EDIT: The volvo cars mentioned aboveare all daily drivers..One guy has full interior, takes i tto work everyday and even drives his family in it to the mall and stuff....just for info.

^^^ My friend in Md has a Volvo that runs low 12s... looks completely stock. We take it out Honda Hunting all the time... they try to do the ricerfly-by and still get caught and left in the rear view. Some Volvo's have BIG front-mounts stock as well.

Well I rarely post threads on this site because my car is not done yet, and I really didnt want to let everyone know what I was doing until it was done, but finally my car is in the shop and is being transformed. Im not saying my car is going to be a 10-second car, but it might come real close. Atleast 11's. Roy from Overboost is going to be doing all the work on my car and he has a 10 second GSX. I however have a 99GST.

When my car is completely done in about 2 weeks, it will have the following mods:

T3T4 Ball Bearing 50 Trim Stage III Turbo
T3T4 Tubular Exhaust Manifold
Tial 38mm External Wastegate
Injen Intake
Greddy Type-S BOV
Greddy Big FMIC
Greddy UICP
3" Downpipe
3" Testpipe
Greddy Evo Cat-Back
Fluidyne Radiator
Greddy Sport Radiator Hose Kit
RC 660cc Fuel Injectors
AEM Fuel Rail
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
Magnus Intake Manifold
AEM Adjustable Cam Gears
HKS Cams
Crower Valve Springs & Titanium Retaiiners
ACT 2600 Clutch W/Extreme Pressure Plate
Quaife LSD
Tein Flex Coilover Kit w/pillowball mounts
Matrix F & R Strut bars
B&M Short Shifter
Greddy E-Manage Piggy back
Greddy Profec E-01 Boost Controller
Blits DC III Turbo Timer

Yes I spent a lot of money. Parts and labor ran me like 15 grand, but im not done. This will be show and go. After Roy is done installing all parts, it goes to the interior shop another 2500 pluse 1300 for Sparco Seats. Then off to the paint shop another 2000. Fortunately I have a good job working overseas so Im able to just drop a lot of cash, but to all the haters out there, money can buy you almost anything.

Will my car hit 10's, I dont know? Will it hit 11's...yeah it will hit 11's. Lets see what your opinion is on what my quarter mile times will be? Pics of the engine bay will be up in a couple weeks when Roy is done maybe 3.

Hopefully it will run as good as all the parts let show...Just dumping alot of parts in a car doesnt make it a fast car though.Things still needs to work together....all need to be adjusted correctly. You will have hard time troubleshooting that engine if it doesnt run corectly since you dumped all in at the same time.I wish you luck though..but be prepared for a lot of work before you get it to run ok.

Good luck though..wil be interesting to se hwat happens...

^^^^ Looks good... however if it isn't too late I'd go with a different FPR. I've heard nothing but bad things about the B&M unit.

Thanx guys....yes I know it has to be tuned heavily. Thats why I bought the e-manage so I can get the fuel mapping done correclty and then the Cam Gears are going to have to be adjusted. I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks. Im still overseas...Roy and my dad are having fun spending my cash as we speak! :)

Yes of course there will be slicks on the front, i thought that was too obvious so thats why i left them off.

Umm, you don't need slicks to run 12's... you don't even NEED slicks to run 11's. They'll just make it easier... friend's 97 GST ran high 11's on DR's.

i've been thinking... let's say you've got an engine that can reliably produce 600hp to the crank. with fwd, you've got drivetrain loss of nearly 10%, right? ok, so you're pushing 540whp. in an awd, it's closer to 20%, ok? that's 480hp to the wheels then. now... what if you could design a transfer case that would drive the rear wheels in 1st and 2nd gear... but upon shifting into 3rd, would disconnect from the front or the rear wheels so that you're only spinning 2 wheels?
i realize it's probably rather costly... but you'd have all 4 tires for the first 2 gears, when you really need traction, but once you get up to a higher speed, traction isn't quite as elusive...
am i in the past? has this been done already? what do you guys think?

Here's a 10-second DD Civic keeping up with a 10-second Viper, enjoy.

I do not believe there are any current 10-second street-able FWD DSM's.

And which one was the viper? I see no viper in that vid.
