ground control sleeves

Just curious what other people have done in this situation. I tried to install my gc kit on my tokico and the springs they sent aren't long enough they are only 6" can you just install as is or do I need more parts or new springs? I don't really want to lower car too much. I had the Tokico springs and it was too low so I wanted to raise it up some but stock height on 18s probably wouldn't look the best

Yes I do. after I posted I figured someone would ask. It's up flush with the top of the sleeve. I can get it pretty close if I continue to adjust until it's only on by about one thread but that to me would be unstable

Buy longer springs, or if you bought them directly from Ground Control you can contact them to see if you can exchange them for longer ones. Are you talking about the fronts or the rear springs?

I didnt buy from gc but they were shipped directly from gc. I started with the rear but all 4 are only 6" so I imagine the fronts will have same issue

Well that suck. The only way left to go is new springs. Good thing they are cheap. Talk to GC first so see if its something they can take care of.

According to gc it's supposed to be like this due to spring design. I'm skeptical that the extra space isn't going to add extra drop

By kit do you mean sleeves and springs? If you have sleeves you wont have a problem, my springs are 6" and 7"

Yes sleeves n springs. All four of my springs are 6". Do you have the same kit? It seems like it's gonna be a pita when I put the car down since there's a gap and nothing to hold everything together. Also does everyone move the bump stop to the bottom?

You get over the gap the second or third time you lift the car. I don't even think about it anymore. What bump stops

A set of helper springs would be plus for your set-up. At the same time you could add some dividers which would increase the height of your springs a bit. There are also spacers available. Check www.shock-shop.com as an example of what is available.

He said the springs were too short. If more height is needed you either have to buy new springs or add spacers. The helper springs are to prevent the suspension from completely unloading and springs loosing alignment on the perches.

The springs becoming unseated is usually only a problem in the rear.

Anyway, the OP said his car was too low, even with the perches all the way up. The only solution is longer springs.
