i noticed the sticker on my talon said the car weighs like 3900 lbs. isnt that kinda high for a small car like this? where's all that weight from?

Gross vehicle weight means the weight of the vehicle plus the weight of the maximum load the auto manufacturer recommends.

Curb weight is simply the weight of the vehicle, which for our cars can be found here:

Gross weight would be the maximum weight if the car was fully loaded.

The total weight with a full trunk/hatch area, full gas, 4 pasenger. They have values for each of the weights they use as a standard, but I cant think of them off the top of my head.
