greddy type s is this leak normal.

ok i got 1 of the greddy type s bov's i know they suck but i just got a question as to why it leaks at the shaft.

when i blow into the lower port it escapes out the big vent port, but the top portion is air tight i dont leak at all.

It leaks there because it doesn't have an airtight seal. To solve that you'll need ECMlink, and you want to put the lower nipple on a solenoid (controlled by link) so it doesn't see boost under WOT conditions.

That's what I do.
 
....or just scrap that P.O.S. and get a 1G BOV; preferably one that has had the Dodge Garage Mod done. You'll be rewarded with an airtight seal, zero maintenance, and durability proven by 20 years of service in the field.

If you apply pressure to the quick-release chamber of a 1G BOV, no air escapes around the shaft of the plunger....it actually forces the valve to open. Wonder how Mitsubishi has this figured out but Greddy has it botched?
 
Yeah i got this BOV on a blowthrough setup and the guy said it had problems but i took it apart and its just cheaper than i thought. i will just have to find some kid and trade him :D
