I am 99.9% positive that I have my boost controller plumbed correctly, but even with all settings at 0, it will not release the wastegate and the boost just spikes to 20psi+. With no power to the unit it runs about 10-11 psi, so that leads me to believe it is plumbed correctly. When power to the unit is cut on I hear the solenoid click, but when i turn it off(by holding down select, power still to unit) the solenoid does not click. It is constantly energized to the closed position so nothing to the wastegate. Is this a bad unit?

Do you have a one way check valve going to your wastegate? Are you sure the power wires aren't/haven't been swapped around? My friend has the same boost controller and we had a similar issue when we initially installed it on his car.I can go see how it's wired/plumbed if need be.

-No check valve on waste gate line. I have a check valve going to my control box(inside car).
-Yes that would be very helpful, I am curious how you ended up correcting the problem.
Thanks!

DO NOT PUT A CHECK VALVE ON THE WASTE GATE LINE!!!!

You're just asking for trouble if you do.

It's not a check valve it's a FILTER!!!

The solenoid is wired wrong, check the colors of the wires, check the connectors at the solenoid and at the unit.

no check valve. the wires from the solenoid just plug into the unit, how could they be wired incorrrectly?

If you think it's wired correctly then you have one of two problems:

1. It is still wired incorrectly or a defective unit!
2. You do not have it hooked up right!

If all else fails post a pic of how you have it hooked up and I can verify that you have it the hooked up correctly!

Check and double check to make sure that you have it hooked up correctly. I have a profec B Spec II and as it can be a bear to get the proper boost you want, it works great not once have I over boosted.

If you turn the unit off and your wastegate opens then the solenoid is functioning and the controller is working it. But if you turn it on and theboost changes and you can't control it that's going to be either a plumbing issue or the settings on the back are wrong.

The settings tell it wether to start with the solenoid closed or open and how to modulate it when it hits the desired boost. So as long as there's a change in boost between the unit being turned on or off, that means it's working, just not hooked up or setup right

I accidentally hooked mine up wrong once where when i was under vacum the wastegate (opendump tube external) would be open during cruise and thenclose under boost where it should have opened LOL

When power is put to the unit, the solenoid is powered @ approx. 7.5 VDC and remains closed constantly. When the unit is switched off (holding SELECT, "OFF" displayed) the solenoid remains powered. I rechecked all connections which are correct. The unit will operate displaying pressure and alarm does sound and peak pressure registers correctly (as high as 24 psi since the solenoid remains closed). The only time the solenoid opens is when I disconnect power to the unit then I only get 10 psi which is the opening spring pressure of the WG actuator
