hi i just installed my used greddy bov i bought off here for $100 it was ez to install but i cant hear much of any thing its just a little bit louder then my stock

could there be something worng with the bov? the screw that gose in the top is'nt the one made for it.

yeah its a stock intake i dont have a cold air for my tubro yet but i will try that seems pretty ez to do.

alright well once you get that intake pipe you will hear the difference in sound you hear your turbo spool louder and your bov sound a lil louder but also try to get the right screww for the bov always go how it came from the manufacturer for best results they made it like that for a reason

cold air just refers to the location of the intake. some people who are a little more creative than most and have customized their own setups away from the norm choose to bring the intake down into the bumper if theres room with their setup. you probably wont find this setup common just because it would most likely be a non mas car (ie. aem ems) due to the big bulky stock mas and your intercooler piping would have to allow you the room to bring the air filter down behind the bumper

i put in a screw but it seems like its softer then before which way do you screw it to make it louder do you screw to down to push the insides down or do i keep it almost out?

im going to do the moding tommorw on that waste pipe and see if it helps also were do you get the open air filters like in the pics above and do u have to buy any thing extra or will it fit were the air box is connected.

on the boost guage were dose the needle need to set cause when the cars just setting its between the lowest white mark and the - sign is this normal? and also dosent the bov make sound when u rev up the motor cause my dosent

Sounds like you are talking about the stock boost gauge - When you are idling, its normal for the boost gauge to show minimum boost (you should actually be seeing vacuum at idle). Your BOV may not make any noise if you are just parked and reving the engine - you may not be generating enough boost pressure to cause the BOV to open. To build up significant boost pressure, your engine needs to have a load on it - in other words you need to be driving and accelerating to build boost pressure. Then if you suddenly let off the gas, your BOV should open and you should hear the whoosh sound.

Contrary to popular belief, that set screw has nothing to do with how loud the BOV is or what kind of sound it makes. Set it full soft and leave it alone.

Don't expect to ever get a loud fast and furious style noise out of a recirculated valve with stock boost pressure. A lot of the big psssht noises you hear on other cars is because they have an open air BOV with a discharge port designed to amplify the noise. You can't get that with a recirculated valve, and the GReddy valves aren't exactly the loudest on the market to begin with.

You are 100% correct. Although loosening and tightening the screw does change how the valve actuates and does change the sound somewhat(a flutter compared to a chirp as an example). On dsms using a greddy valve assuming you havent got a used one with a messed up screwROFL, you want it right in the middle somewhere. the rule of thumb is as tight as you can without creating a compressor surge situation(car bucking when you let off the gas) at part throttle shifts
