After having this gauge run perfectly for the last 18 months, yesterday I noticed it would not read over the 0psi mark. The turbo spools properly, the car drives properly, but the gauge is haywire. After further driving, the needle would jump around into the .5bar territory, but it would be all on its own, and would just begin to dance around at random readings.

This is an electronics problem, but I am not sure where to start. I did a search for this issue but couldn't really find anything. Is this likely a problem with the connection? On which end?

I have a greddy EGT gauge as well which is reading properly. But it is of course reading directly from the source as opposed to the boost gauge.

I had these gauges installed at a shop as I'm not confident in my electronics adeptness, so any (dumbed down) help would be greatly appreciated.

broken vacuum hose or a leak in the hose some place... Remove the whole vacuum line and replace it would be my recommendation. They sell a nice kit at autozone for $10-$20

Check your gauge wiring to make sure nothing is grounding out on the body or touching any other wires in close proximity. Also, it would be a good idea to replace the vacuum line as mentioned above.

Good luck!

yes it is the electronic gauge.

I'm thinking it may be touching some wires nearby, so I will have to check it out. I don't see it relating to the vacuum line as the gauge began working again for 1 drive yesterday, then went haywire again on later trips.
Any reason for a ground to go bad after over a year of it working fine? short of a big jolt to the chassis knocking things loose...?
