I got a new 6 bolt block off my buddy for my car for 200 dollars that we thought had a bad head(he just bought it for cheap and never tore into it) so i brought it home and go it torn apart to find that a valve broke off and put a hole in cylinder 2.. :ohdamn: so the block is no good and ive just about had enough bad luck with these cars so i decided im going big or go home, since rebuilding it will cost several hundred dollars why not man up and get forged for a few more.

I found this on extremepsi.com and for the wiseco pistons and eagle rods is about 760 dollars or so, so im going to grab those with some acl bearings and throw an hx40 on it with supporting fuel system and shoot for 10s on pump gas and call it a day! Ive had nothing but bad luck so i figured why not start from scratch and do it the right way and really see what this thing can do

Plan is to order the internals with my tax return but should be able to get them before then.

Does anyone else have a wisco eagle package on there car? if so how do you like it? Just figured id share my new thoughts with the car.

I would say that the Wiseco/Eagle combo is one of the most tried and proven setups for mid powered cars in the DSM world. It come standard in our 800 series engines.

How big is the hole in #2 cylinder?

It may be able to be fixed with a Dry press fit repair sleeve.

Then bored to what over size needed.

Also most dry sleeves are of a higer nickle content than the block they are being installed in.

Oh god no you can see the rod through the piston!! haha definatly need new pistons and yes from reading about the combo it seems widely used and never really read any bad reviews on them, in fact i just watched a video of a full weight 1g run a mid 9 on the same combo :)

Ok, so the hole is in the piston, and not the block casting.

Then never mind about the sleeve.

Or you could do what we did. Pulled the bad piston and rod. Swapped it oit with a spare rod/piston combo. Swappee over the bearings and rings for that piston. Been running like a champ for almost two years!! Lol
