got a 420A need help

Hey everyone i just recently bought a 98 eclipse with a 420A for 300 motor doesn't work. Well my first question is, what should i do besides working on the motor like is it worth building the block and head with all internals or just fix it up and buy a GSX? Any feedback would help thanks. Second quetion is should i keep it cause it has supra tailights, vertical doors, headers, aem sri, tach and i think thats about it.

You're just asking for a bunch of opinions, each of which will be different. Ultimately, only you can decide what to do with it. Obviously, most of us here felt that these cars are sufficiently capable to build and tune.

hmmm? you could always sell me the car for 900.00 and do nothing to it. then you make a free 600.00 dollars.

haha im going to keep it hey can't beat 300 for a 98. i've been looking for alot of stuff think im going to build it and make it a show and go car.

IMO, with all of the extras that came with the car.

You could spend some money on just building the bottom end, leave the head alone, and boost the car up to about 10-12psi, and then make it look nice.

Then you'd only be out the money it would have cost you to buy the car had the motor been working. Figure about $2000 on building your turbo kit, and $2000 for the rebuild.


You could also throw a stock 420a motor in their for about 500-1500 bones and just make it a nice car to have, and put your other money into a 1gAWD or whatever your else you decide.

But like paul said, ultimately its up to you, and every suggestion is gonna be different.
