Ok, my whole exhaust side is upgraded, manifold, o2 housing, DP and and catback exhaust (exhaust is catless).. now time for the intake side of things, I need opinions and some insight.. please post part names and links if possible, I want a cold air intake (3"), a gm maf (if I even need this), a bigger throttle body, a new intake manifold (weapon R any good?) And anything else I might need.. I'm gonna be running a small 16g btw.. thanks guys

Couldn't find anything definitive on anybody using it here but I did come across the following information searching the internet that might give you some idea:

DYNO RESULTS WR INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR TC. - Scionlife.com

Dyno chart for Weapon R IM showed a gain of 6.5hp and 11tq on a N/A engine un-tuned

Weapon R Intake Manifold..Anyone Using it? - evolutionm.net

^^Talks about the Weapon R IM blowing up on high horsepower applications

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/386195-weapon-r-intake-manifold-smim.html

^^^Random talk about people's thought on the manifold.

Enjoy!

Not really, stock intake manifold will suite you fine. If all you have is full exhaust, and s16g, this is what I would get in order:

-Boost gauge (autometer, similar)
-Wideband gauge (Innovate)
-DSMlink v3 lite (ecmtuning)
-Speed density bundle (same price new, as a used 3in GM maf... and more user friendly in the long run) (ecmtuning)
-Short air intake pipe and conical air filter (no more maf sensor! b.c of SD) (classifieds, any)
-Injectors, at least 650cc (FIC)
-Fuel pump 190 lph (walbro)
-Boost controller (hallman)
-Hard IC pipes (any that fit you model)

then you will be flowing and probably take your 16g to the max.
pick and choose your mods about 15-16 psi will be the cutoff point to skip some things on this list, by and modded DSM should have them ALL.

Dont wast your money on that. you wont see any appreciable difference in intake tracts at your current power levels.

I ran a dejon tool setup when i had my maf set up, mines i customized mine now that i have eliminated the translator and got a fp intake and a fmic.

Ok whats the bbk? Throttle body, are you using on a stock intake manifold, trying to figure out what your doing intake manifold or intake pipe?

Huh?? Never said that I was or that it would ......

Oh btw if you clicked the 3rd link it talks about how the manifold is not really that good or needed.

I bought a 4" short ram intake, now I need to know if upgraded the throttle body and intake manifold would be a good buy, I've heard it increases throttle response, boost response, and hp.. but I want some fellow dsm'ers words on it.. oh and I just bought v3 dsmlink and the speed density sensor.. so I don't need a maf anymore?

Speed density is done with 2 sensors. Did you get both?

You'll need a maf temporarily to build your speed density table.

I'd keep the stock intake manifold and a 1g tb until the high 500's.

If you really want to upgrade your IM look into getting a evo3 IM. IMO it is the perfect manifold for a 16g. It made quite a bit of difference in the upper RPM's with my 16g and I didn't lose anything in the lower range. You can find them from time to time in the classifieds. there is also a member on here that is from Europe that can usually find one for you and get it shipped to your door at a good price. I'd have to look though the names to find what it is exactly but it is something along the lines of Debbie.

i hope i got both, ### i ordered the "bundle" from ecmtuning.. and a new eprom socketed ecu plus v3 dsmlink... im just gonna send them my old ecu, he said they will refund me $100.. which is more then id get on craigslist.

Yup that's the way to go. Plug and play installation. You will hook it up and if your car ran before, it will run the exact same after. You def got both.

I bought my bundle and sensors, and plug and play wire is highly recommended. very high quality and you will be very hard pressed to make a nicer one especially at the price point.

Now that you went SD, you can vent your BOV (if you really want to, or have to. Mine is recirc and its still stupid crazy loud) You can run whatever intake pipe you want now. you can even just put the filter directly on the turbo if you want.
