So this is a bit of a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find answers that click to me in the days I've been looking around for information on tuning.
I do understand how essential tuning is to a car, so I don't want to leave that part out when I start to build mine!
I have several bolt ons, including: big 16g, punishment FMIC, greddy bov, aeromotive afpr, injen intake, turboxs MBC, and punishment radiator. My buddy said he'll sell me a walbro 255 (new) and some 660cc injectors for $100, so I think I'm gonna take the offer. However, I don't wanna run those fuel mods and such without some sort of tune. SO.
I have access (for $30, is it worth it?) to an original SAFC. One that looks like this:
I am just curious. If I were to get this and hook it up, would this be a safe way to tune these small mods for now? I honestly only have a goal of about 350hp and not doing anything too crazy. I know DSMlink would be my best route but
a.) I'm a broke full time college student and
b.) I have no idea how to tune anything, and want to start off simple
Any help would be appreciated. I basically just need to know if it is worth buying that SAFC off of a friend for $30, if it would be able to effectively tune my car on 15lbs of boost as that is all I really want, maybe turn it up to 18-19ish if I go to bandimere.
I don't have a logger or anything nor do I know much about them, I'm pretty electronically useless but wanna learn! Unless the android app Torque Pro will work because I do have that that connects to the OBD2
Also I don't have a wideband but it is definitely in the shopping cart. These are just offers that are available to me now and want to jump on it and try to get my foot in the door tuning-wise.
Thanks ahead of time, I appreciate it!
