can anyone give me a link to a good and effective 1g intake pipe? from what i see in the tech section there's several different kinds and i'm not sure which one is best to get. anything under $100 and effective is what im looking for. my car is basically stock right now with only a k&n filter. any help would be appreciated.

Lowes or home depot. Also stapl3 on this forum, Is selling intakes I believe, They look very good and are being sold at a very good price. Paying $100.00+ for an intake pipe is crazy :toobad:

true, but if he doesn't want something ghetto looking, he would opt for the $100 powder coated pipe

" Looking for 45.00 a pipe. I have PayPal and ship VIA FedEx. PM, don't email. "

"Each pipe is constructed of 3" mandrel bent aluminized steel. Piping is MIG welded, then the welds are ground down for a glass smooth finish. They are professionally painted any color you want as long as it's silver. "

^^ is that a 1g pipe and is it a good one? what do YOU guys use?

Yes, It will fit a 1g car. pm him about it if you want. All intakes are the same, It's just a piece of pipe... If you want to pay an extra 200 dollars for an injen pipe or something, Then go ahead and waste your money, Because the only thing that is different is that you get a little sticker with a name brand  An intake pipe is an intake pipe, As long as it's a decent size and smooth on the inside rather then the stock acordian junk. It doesn't really even make that much of a difference.

everyone will say something different!

like i said.. matter of preference.

if you want something cheap and don't care if it doesn't look good, you can make one yourself with home depot parts..

if you want something that looks better and pretty much does the same thing, then pay more.

OORRRRR... if money is such an issue in this discussion then why dont you keep your stock one.... taking out the filter box and throwing in a new performance filter is what gives you the horsepower(i believe filter alone gives u 8 wheel hp (k&nfilters))...whether the intake PIPE is rough on the inside like the stock one or smooth like an aftermarket pipe it makes NO difference...your gains are only going to be seen through the filter alone...

When you say 1G intake I am guessing you are still using a 1G MAS.

I am - and I ordered mine from dejontool.com... It was 80 dollars, red powder coated, came with everything it needed to put on. Seems to work fine, looks nice.

Its about mid-way down from the page.

Something to think about which is what I thought about later on after getting it on the car...

If I go with a front-mounter intercooler and want it to go right from the intercooler to the throttle body instead of going into the fender and so forth - this intake will most likely get in the way... Not fixable just annoying.

btw, is it ok to take the filter box off? will i be getting a rough idle or anything? i put the box back on the k&n filter cause i thought it would. should i take it off?
