Okay, I have a 95 RS, and I have already done the cheap spray paint job on many of my interior panels. I want to re-do them, but this time using a paint gun and some exterior paint and clearcoat...The whole works.

This may help explain some what I want to paint. Go to www.vgear-motorsports.com and click on members, click on Drew and you can see my interior from there. I want to paint everything that is green and also the lower half of the door panels.

I need to know the basics about prep work on plastic, what kind of primer, and any details up until I shoot it with paint and clear. I want it to look professional and I want to do it myself. Any advice from the experienced will be greatly appreciated. THX! :dsm: :thumb:

hey ,
first you ned to sand off as much of the cheap job with 180 grit, or more course if needed, then you should seal the pieces with an epoxy sealer, then sand the epoxy lightly with 180. clean them with pre paint cleaner which the supply place will know what you need, then you should hi- fill prime them with 3 good coats, let that dry over night, next put a guide coat which you can use cheap black spray paint don't put it on thick, just dust it and let it sit for 5min. then sand the hi-fill with 180 again. next pre clean them again then hi-fill them with two coats reduced 10%. let that dry over night. guide coat again, then wet sand them with 400 grit wet paper. next dry them good, pre clean them again. before you spray the paint on them, take the same sealer that you used first, reduce that 10%.one god coat to seal the hi-fill. let that dry 30 min., next you are ready to paint you don't need flex additive because the interior does not really flex that much. good luck to you and i hope this helps you. oh! don't forget to strain everything makes the job really clean. Don't get in a hurry because it takes time to do this process. let me know

Good Luck, Brandon....Performance Paintworks, WA. :thumb: :laser:
