I have decided to go all motor and some suggestions on things to get. So far all i have is a cai, af/x udp. I am looking at trying to reach 220hp. :dsm:

well all i can say is goodluck i thought about all motor but not for long LoL all these honda people do swaps and shit but that's because there's 80 million honda engines that fit civics and whatnot(i'm not raggin on em..i've got friends w/ em they're quick as shit) but for eclipse i just don't think it's a good idea but still GOODLUCK i'd like to see an all motor DSM it'd be pretty sweet...keep me posted

Well, with CAI, UDP, Headers, Cams, Camgears, Upgraded ECU, Exhaust, Better Injectors maybe  Performance Coil pack and Spark Plugs and Wires, you might get there :thumb: I would certainly think so. Oh yeah, port and polish.

well does he want crank or wheel?? cuz wheel, well i wouldnt be so sure. definately not without a good P&P

Damn i definetly did not see this thread LOL........Look at my sig for some ideas...

cai
header
hi-flow cat
cat-back
port tb
p&p intake manifold
udp
cams
cam gears
afc (you will be running rich)
af/x ecu (scrap this if you want nitrous b/c this advances your timing whereas nitrous needs a retard if you want to spray anything over 55.....if you want full advantage of this you must get the cams, lifters & rockers (so you can rev past 7200))
p&p your head

Should get you might close......

good luck.220HP at the wheels, extremly dificult without a lot of dough.but if you got the cash,go for it. I'm aiming for around 170 at the wheels.I'll be happy with that till I fall on the darks side(LOL) in a year or too.

There has yet to be any 2GNT to put down even 200hp all motor. The highest I've seen is something like 180 at the crank or so. If you want to even get close, consider swapping in a 2.4L, boring something like .060" over and going with some serious compression (minimum 10.5:1). You're going to need nasty cams and port work, along with a great deal of tuning. It's going to cost above $5000 imo.

I've done a lot of research into this, as I was aiming for the same thing, but now I've decided to let the boost bug bite me and will leave my set up alone until I have everything I need to boost her properly. I have to admit I am probably close, but I'm not wasting any money on dyno time until I can at least adjust cam timing and AF. My mods list can be found at the NDSMR, but it's been a while since I've posted it.

Botttom End ($2000):
10.5:1 Wiseco pistons, Eagle ESP-H rods
AFX UDP
run4cvr filled motor mounts
assorted supporting mods (oil pump, water pump, etc.)

Top End ($3000):
ERT/FierroRacing head
-race port
-5 angle valve job
-1mm oversize SS valves
-Crower Ti valve springs/retainers
-PTC lifters/lash adjusters
-Crower 2 cams
-ERT/FierroRacing ported intake manifold
-ported TB
-Pacesetter 4-2-1
-no cat
-MagnaFlow muffler
AFX/r ECU

It's been costly and I'm much faster than I was before (even able to hang with some stock 4g63s now to a point), but it's not worth doing for any reason other than the "never been done before" aspect. I could get a little more by going to Crower 3s and some tuning, but I'm not really interested in that unless I come to find I'm closer to 200hp than anyone's ever been. Otherwise, I'm going to start collecting things for my turbo project. Come the 2005 shootout, I plan on being one of the fastest 5 DSMs there (on street tires anyways).

hey man, i spoke to you on the 2gnt chat today....yea you were talking about the boost bug.....I myself am not going turbo neither am i goin all motor....I have some mods remaining to do but this is what i look like so far:

- cai - Header-Back Exhaust
- 4-1 Header - af/x udp
- MSD Wires - NGK One Range colder plugs
- afc-II - zex wet

Going on within the next week (sitting in my room, port work has appointment next weekend :thumb: :

- p&p intake mani - ported tb
- cam gears - fuel pump

Within the next month:

- race head (5 angle valve job, complete intake & exhaust port, highly p&p cc)
- purge & bottle warmer
- Bigger injectors
- Lifters & rockers
- Cams (still undecided….i was told on that chat that 0012s are too mild, I’m open for suggestions BUT must be daily drivable)

And if there was only an ecu out for my car……

what if i were to take the 2.4L and stroke it to a 2.6L??? what for hp am I looking at compared to the 420A????? I am looking for 220 whp. :dsm:
