Going All Motor Need Ideas

I have decided to go all motor and i need some suggestions on things to get. So far all i have is a cai, af/x udp. I am looking at trying to reach 220hp. :dsm:

hmmm... my first suggestion would be dont! :p my next suggestion would be to only post threads once. my third suggestion would be to have very deep pockets, cuz thats going to cost you alot. your going to wanna run some high compression, new cams... actually, to start i would get the stroker bottom end kit from howell with the 12.5 compression, then maybe the 18 drag cams, cam gears, p&p the hell out of your head and intake manifold. headers, downpipe, get rid of your cat, cat back exaust, 60mm throttle body, some kind of stand alone fuel and ignition management...

you could spend $5000+ on all of that and maybe reach 220, or, with your mods + a 75 shot of nitrous, hit 220 for $550. its your choice man.
 
2g i wouldnt go to crazy with. i dotn see much for that motor. which motor you got im nto to sure about 1g's. never really paid any attention to em.

If you want to make 220hp all motor, the best reason to do it is for the never been done before factor. Wasn't there another post like this just this week? In any case, jump over to the National DSM Registry and check the Arizona cars for my profile. I've got close to $5k under my hood now and I'd be lucky to get 180-190hp out of her with some tuning. You want the power? Turbo. You want the prestige? Turbo, but breaking 200hp all motor on 2 liters would definitely secure you in the record books and make you a sort of hero for the rest of all motor lads.
 
i knwo on a 1g (which im plannign on tweakign when i get it) you can use most of the turbo parts on that motor. like im gona nrun 450cc injectors and a 75mm tb wheni figure the rest of the setup out and get all peices. of course you really wont make power n/a until you get into compression and all.

stock 1g has 9:0:1 compression pistons. i know magnus has 10:0:1 pistons and i had brc 11:0:1 pistons a while back. you can use turbo cams on a 1g which give hreat gains. you can use 1mm valves and valve jobs which is major factor in a n/a engine. mostly just gettin air in the motor is the key to the power.

n/a motor dont have a turbo breathign air in them. they have to breath it on there own if this makes any sense? so you have to open all air passages in and out of the motor up. 2.5 inch exhaust is perfect and you really wont need bigger. and intake is all personally what you want to run.

thats what im shooting for :cool: but you want me to do it with or without nitrous.LOL :laugh:

this will be the ENDLESS PROJECT for me.

the good thing is i've got lots of family members that really now motors and stuff and will help me out so i can save some money. YOU PEOPLE ARE VERY HELPFULL!!!!!!!!! :dsm:

what compression you gonna run? i didnt know that aem made an ems for our cars?
 
really high compression will suck because you'll have to run race gas to get anything done. you want to make big all motor power, rev to 10,000 rpm. Get the 2.2 stroker crank, custom aluminum rods, run 10.5 compression, run a big cam (crane 18 is not really worth it with only 10.5, try a 16), oversized valves, everything possible to your head, bore .040 over and toss in some custom pistons to get that extra few CCs, full exhaust system, custom header, intake, and then you might get 220 horsepower. oh ya, you'll need standalone engine management and 360cc injectors too.
revving to 10 grand is worth it all on its own, IMHO. :)
