My Godspeed Project Radiator has arrived from Cali. I spent a few hours last night learning different ways to properly mount the slimlne fans that came with it to the rad. After doing some side by side mock-ups I noticed something very interesting as well as alarming.
The upperhose connection is in the center.
It dawned on me that the center connection for the upper hse is for the 4g63 motor!(I have the 420a)
After doing some searching online I've found that I could use certain universal hose kits, that come in varities like stainless steel mesh... I'm very skeptical about these because its not molded rubber and its definatly not silicone. Materials I trust to hold up to the cooling systems heat cycles.
Should I be too worried about this radiator being for the 4g63 or is this just a simple fitiment issue that can be overlooked?
Ive been using Gates upper and lower performance hoses for a month now they are still new. I would like to continue to use thier products but I cannot honestly justify buying a kit for a 4g63 motor and not using the lower hose! Thats such a waste of money.
Sorry for my long winded post theres more on my mind but I can figure that out on my own, I just need to know if I'm going crazy or not..
Btw learning how to do a write up!
BTW Pics
MOCKUP of fan placement
I went ahead and sent the radiator back. Unfortunatly after some more mockups there wasnt really any way to safely install the radiator. Seeing that it is meant for the 4g63 model and not the 420a, the water inlet and outlet connections are too different.
(I wish I could just delete this thread all together)
