I just got a gm mas from the junk yard that came out of a buick and I was wondering how I can clean it without runing it, and how can I test it before I put it in.

1.clean the connections with brake cleaner
2.Open it by unbolting the 4 bolts then take off the middle plastic part (with the wires)
3.shoot some pressurized air in the screen and the metal casing to take the bigger crap out.

4. (VERY optional) polish the interior tubing
5. put it back together

If you've got some time, you can file, sand and buff the aluminum exterior to make it all shiney.
